Our Energetix team have brought home the silver medal after performing at the Schoolaerobics National Championships on the Gold Coast. Competing against 11 other schools, they finished with a score of 81.3—just one point behind the winning team.
After winning the state competition in Geelong in April, they had been busy practising during weekends and after school to perfect their performance as well as fundraising to help meet the cost of the their travel. The team, made up of 10 girls from Years 4 to 6, travelled to the Gold Coast with their family members who acted as their very enthusiastic cheer squad!
Thank you to coach, Mrs Amanda Wik, and team manager, Miss Meagan Silvers, for their hard work, commitment and dedication in getting the girls to the top of the competition. Thank you also to the PTFA who made a generous contribution to each of the girls’ travel costs.
Schoolaerobics is the largest interschool aerobics competition for primary and secondary school students throughout Australia, providing an avenue to improve their fitness, confidence, health and self-esteem through participation in a healthy and fun competition. At Holy Trinity, we have two teams that compete in Schoolaerobics—the Energetix team and the younger Littlegetix.
