Holy Trinity Racing Team dominated the 8-hour race at Mount Gambier over the weekend in the first round of the Australian HPV Super Series. Despite the Antarctic weather in South Australia, the students produced a scorching on track display to produce four podium finishes across the five categories we entered. In 8 hours, our five teams travelled a combined distance of 1308 kilometres, almost the distance from Horsham to Sydney following the coastal roads.
Category results were as follows:
- Hurricane (Year 6/7 all female): 1st in category
- Avalanche (Year 8–10 all female): 1st in category
- Tempest (Year 8–10 boys): 2nd in category
- Thunder (Year 6/7 boys): 3rd in category
- Firestorm (Year 9–12 boys): 6th in category
Congratulations also to Chanel Scollary, who recorded the fastest lap of the 2.4km circuit out of all girls in Category 2 (Years 8–10), with a 2:47 effort.
Thank you to Miss Davis, Mrs Matuschka, Mr Przibilla, Mrs Friberg, Darryl Buckman, Mick Salter and Jenny Klowss who were all integral in the running of Holy Trinity Racing’s first event of the year. Thank you also to Sarah Barber and Oriana Panozzo for their efforts as Team Managers for the girls’ teams.
