Students in Years 7 to 12 are required to bring their own device to school each day for use in classes. Devices must meet the college’s minimum specifications.
The Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) Program recognises that choices about technology are personal. BYOD in education allows families and students to make technology choices based on their circumstances that also meets specific curriculum needs.
Middle School (Years 7 to 9)
In the Middle School, students are required to purchase a Chromebook. These devices cater for the core educational needs of our Year 7 to 9 students in an affordable, lightweight and efficient package. Please note: students enrolled in the Middle School before 2021 are able to continue to use their iPad until they enter the Senior School.
Senior School (Years 10 to 12)
Students in the Senior School are required to purchase a Windows or Apple laptop. This is due to software needs becoming more specialised from a wider array of subjects studied in Years 10 to 12.
Purchasing a device
Option 1: Purchasing from the portal
Use the portal to purchase your chosen device from options that meet our minimum operating specifications. Purchasing one of our recommended devices will ensure you select the most appropriate device for the student.
Option 2: Purchasing your own device
Rather than purchasing through the portal, you have the option of sourcing a device through a different supplier. So that the device is appropriate for use in our education programs, please ensure that it meets minimum specifications.
Years 7 to 9 students in the BYOD program are required to purchase specific Chromebook models from the following options:
- Lenovo 500E G2 Chromebook (11.6 inch screen)
4GB memory, 32GB hard drive, 10 hour battery life and stylus
- HP Chromebook 11 X360 G3 EE (11.6 inch screen)
8GB memory, 64GB hard drive, 12 hour battery life and stylus
Years 10 to 12 students can purchase a Windows or Apple laptop that meets the following minimum requirements:
- i5 Processors or AMD Ryzen 5 and up recommended
- solid state hard drives of at least 256GB
- 13 to 15 inch screen

Acceptable use of digital technology
The Digital Technology Acceptable Use Agreement sets out the rights and responsibilities of students and families in the BYOD program at the college.
We require both students and their parents/carers to read, understand and agree to the Digital Technology Acceptable Use Agreement before the student is able to access the college’s digital systems and internet resources.
