Wednesday 1 May was Australian Lutheran World Service (AWLS Day), which was marked at Holy Trinity Lutheran College at the Middle/Senior School worship.
Mrs Vicki Gollasch from Australian Lutheran World Service visited Holy Trinity Lutheran College on the day, leading the worship service where the theme for the day was being thankful.
Vicki shared the remarkable personal stories of people she has met around the world who have shown great resilience and gratefulness through personal trials and hardships. The following quote had a major impact on the students:
‘What if you woke up today with only the things that you thanked God for yesterday.’
Following the Chapel, the Year 7 students spent the day in a ‘what if…?” workshop where they explored, through practical activities, several ‘what if’ scenarios and questions centred around world poverty.
A huge thank you to Vicki and ALWS for the engaging and informative presentation and workshop she developed for the students. Many students left with a renewed outlook on the world they live in.
