Education is a never-ending process and our teachers are passionate about continuing their own learning so that they can keep inspiring learning in our students. Over the past eight months, Holy Trinity Lutheran College has been involved in a teaching and learning program looking at the necessary thinking skills that students need to thrive in this changing and challenging world that we live in.
The project, Making Thinking Visible in a Complex World, is facilitated by Independent Schools Victoria and the Harvard Graduate School of Education. It centres around Visible Thinking—where students develop thinking routines that encourage the application of learning not only academically, but in everyday activities.
Over the course of the project, our teachers have explored Visible Thinking and how it can motivate our students by making learning more meaningful—building deeper and broader understanding to use knowledge in different contexts.
The project has provided staff and students with opportunities to investigate and engage in thinking routines that support rich and deep thinking, encouraging collaborative, creative, critical and curious thinkers.
Thank you to Mr Polack and the media team for producing this clip that shows how our college supports the learning that matters in the lives of our students.
